ABOUT

The Michigan Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants (MAAA) is a nonprofit organization, established in 2018, dedicated to supporting the profession of Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAAs). With the support of the national organization, American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAAA), MAAA strives to achieve practice expansion by educating medical professionals, as well as the public of our role in the Anesthesia Care Team (ACT) Model.

The educational background of a CAA consists of a bachelor’s degree with completion of the appropriate pre-medical courses needed to attend an accredited Master’s of Anesthesia program. Upon completion of this rigorous 24-28 month program, CAA’s are exceptionally trained and thoroughly specialized in anesthesia. We practice in a variety of medical facilities, functioning under a physician anesthesiologist as a member of the ACT model. We promote the ACT model and seek to provide high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to all patients in our community.
